A complete shutdown was observed on Thursday in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on the arrival of the Government of India’s special representative for Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma, in the town.
Reports said that Sharma arrived at around 11 am at Town Hall, Tral. Soon after people of Tral came to know about the visit of the GoI’s representative, all shops, business establishments and educational institutions shut.
A large contingent of forces including SOG men, CRPF and army were seen doing rounds in the area while choppers were also pressed into service to keep a vigil, reports said. Sharma later met at least five delegations including Gurdwara Praband Committee, Bar Association Tral, Mantaqi Cricket Club, Vypar Mandal and BJP delegation, at the Town Hall.
